Artist statement

I started embroidering in 2016 when I felt a need for a hobby that was slow, methodical, and devoid of screens. I’m drawn to imagery from historical illustration and illuminated manuscripts, in part because I’m delighted by the whimsical characters and beautiful compositions, and because working in this way makes me feel connected to these often nameless artists of the past.
